Local Attractions

The apartments are ideally situated between Glasgow’s city centre and west end. Most of the local attractions listed below are within a short drive or a 10 to 20 minutes from the apartments.


Glasgow Cathedral

Built during the 13th – 15th century, Glasgow Cathedral houses the tomb of St Mungo, Patron Saint of Glasgow.
   
Corinthian

Awesome Victorian interior that has to be seen to be believed. Since refurbishment a few years ago the Corinthian now has restaurants, bars, nightclub and conference rooms.
   
Glasgow School of Art
167 Renfrew Street, G3 6RQ.
Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a student at Glasgow’s School of Art and designed the current building. It is now an international educational establishment were design, art and architecture are studied.
   
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
Argyll Street, G3 8AG.
A recent restoration project has increased its exhibitions to around 8000 objects displayed on 3 floors. There are not only displays but interactive events and a gallery dedicated to Glasgow’s own Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
   
Museum of Transport
1 Bunhouse Road, Glasgow G3 8DP.
The Museum of Transport is directly opposite the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. A wander around the museum is recommended if you want to indulge in the history of Glasgow’s transportation or if you want to get a close up of a formula one racing car.
Provand’s Lordship
3 Castle Street, Glasgow G4 ORB
Directly opposite Glasgow Cathedral and St Mungo Museum is Glasgow’s oldest house. This dates back to 1471 and has evolved from a manse, alehouse and sweetshop to one of Glasgow’s fondest tourist attractions.
   
St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art
2 Castle Street, Glasgow G4 ORH
This is a 3 floor museum celebrating the world’s different religions. There are also impressive works of art inspired by different religious beliefs. The ground floor has a gift shop where memorabilia can be purchased from your visit.
   
  The Mitchell Library
201 North Street, G3 7DN.
The Mitchell Library is one of the largest public reference libraries in Europe. It was first opened in 1877 as a result of a generous bequest by a wealthy tobacco manufacturer.
   
  The Mitchell Theatre
6 Granville Street, G3 7DR.
The Mitchell Theatre is situated behind the Mitchell Library and hosts a variety of events. The Mitchell Theatre hosts music, arts and drama events including child friendly entertainments.
